March 2024: Safety & Justice Challenge Presentation

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation launched the Safety and Justice Challenge (SJC) to change the way America thinks about and uses jails. Over 40 participating sites are committed to this mission and have implemented various programs to reduce the size of their jails and eliminate the footprint of the criminal justice system through their communities.

Our team presented at the Safety and Justice Challenge on SF Pretrial’s 48-year journey of enterprise and innovation, highlighting the evolution of programs and the lasting impact on our community. Over the years, SF Pretrial has implemented various approaches to client support, focusing on improving program outcomes and adapting to the needs of those we serve. The presentation covered the key milestones in the organization’s history, detailing the effectiveness of our programs and our ongoing efforts to reduce barriers to justice. Through innovation and commitment, SF Pretrial continues to foster client success and community well-being.
