The Justice, Equity & Healing Center (J:HUB) is the realization of six years of growth and innovation related to heightened client needs and unwavering staff dedication.
More than just a new office.
On any given day, our team manages a dozen or more jail releases and many more check-ins. In our current environment, intakes are performed in a crowded space where clients share stories of trauma and personal struggles with little to no privacy. Although clients regularly decompensate in our lobby, we don’t have a quiet area for recovery. We have one private and two semi-private offices shared by three Clinicians, our 20+ person ACM team and CalAIM and housing staff. Individuals involved in the justice system, particularly those presumed innocent, should have access to a positive and supportive environment.
The J:HUB is located at 8th & Folsom and will feature a welcoming lobby, at least six private client spaces, a more private intake area, comfortable area for charging ankle monitors (note: electronic monitoring is administered by the Sheriff’s Office), computers for clients and ample and safer accommodations for our team. A consultant worked with our Leadership to create a vision for the space our staff and clients deserve. Our success depends upon our community relationships, and we’re excited to provide dedicated workstations and meeting rooms for our collaborative partners, including those with expertise in serving monolingual individuals. There are numerous social services resources located nearby. It’s close to where our justice-involved population is concentrated and just far enough away to offer fewer distractions.
